contents: The police is called to the third child murder committed within a short period of time, close to each other and using similar methods. This time there is a suspect as well, a peddler formerly imprisoned on grounds of molesting young girls, who commits suicide during the interrogation. Of the two investigators, K considers the case to be clear by the death of the peddler. The retired inspector, however, is not convinced and he devotes all his life from now on to serve the revelation of the crime: he rents a gas station, he takes a girl and a woman beside himself as a bait, because he wants the car-driving killer on the hook. The murder, however, kills not the child, but the inspector this time.
