The film posters - together with the theatre premiers, opera programs and the concert previews – have disappeared from the streets of Budapest. Advertising rates are high, only a few productions can afford big-size posters and the rent for a place on the advertising pillars. Fortunately the distributors have come up with a solution for advertising the new films with posters – as post cards! We can take home the posters in reduced size with us.
Before our time the post card-size film posters were the presents of the magazines and trade papers – we can see them today at the exhibition selected by Magdolna Aponyi and arranged by László lencsó. The collection – exhibited at Örökmozgó Filmmuseum – was put on from the film posters of European film art.
